BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Senior running back PaSean Wimberly joins Bowling Green football's official podcast at BGSU this week to kick off season two.
"Fly with Us" is available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify (search Fly With Us). BGSU's assistant athletics director for strategic communications Vincent Briedis conducts in-depth interviews as fans can get to know various members of the 2023 Falcons.
Wimberly was named the National Special Teams Player of the Year after a 2022 season where he shared the nation's lead with three blocked punts. Two of his blocked punts were recovered for touchdowns (at UCLA, at Toledo). The Toledo, Ohio native earned a scholarship last summer during fall camp and has been a key special teams player, while adding support in the run game. His 23-yard rush on BGSU's first offensive play in overtime set up the game-winning touchdown a play later.
"One of my advantages is speed," said Wimberly in regards his play on special teams. "I am a fast guy. I run a 4.3 (40-yard dash), so I use my speed to my advantage. If I run full speed, I know I am going to have the advantage. On punt blocks, I shoot out of a cannon and use my explosive ability and what I was gifted with to get to the ball."
