MAC Announces Bowling Green’s League Opponents for the Next Three Seasons

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green State University's football league opponents are set for the 2024, 2025 and 2026 seasons, as announced by the Mid-American Conference (MAC) on Thursday afternoon.
In November, the MAC announced the elimination of its East and West divisions heading into the 2024 football season. Instead, the two teams with the best records are guaranteed to meet in the MAC Championship game, played annually at Ford Field in Detroit.
The MAC adopted a pod system, featuring four groups of three teams. With the opponents in the same pod playing annually and the rest of the conference schedule filled in with teams from other pods. Bowling Green's pod includes Toledo and Northern Illinois.
Below are BGSU's league opponents for the next three seasons:
2024
Home - Kent State, Miami (OH), NIU, Western Michigan
Away - Akron, Ball State, Central Michigan, Toledo
2025
Home - Akron, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Toledo
Away - Eastern Michigan, Kent State, NIU, Ohio
2026
Home - Ball State, Eastern Michigan, NIU, Ohio
Away - Buffalo, Miami (OH), Toledo, Western Michigan
The official 2024 football schedule will be released by the MAC and ESPN in late February. The non-conference schedule for 2024 has already previously been released. BGSU opens up the season at home on Aug. 29 against Fordham, travels to Penn State on Sept. 7 and Texas A&M on Sept. 21. BGSU returns home on Sept. 28 to host Old Dominion.
Information on football season tickets purchase and renewals will be announced at a later date.
