Phil Steele Names Fannin a First-Team All-American and Puts 10 Falcons on his All-MAC Team

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Phil Steele named Harold Fannin Jr. to his first-team All-America team and 10 Falcons earned Phil Steele All-MAC honors for the 2024 season. Fannin was named a first-team All-American at wide receiver, but an All-MAC first team honoree as a tight end.

Joining Fannin on Phil Steele's first team are CB Jordan Oladokun, ILB Joseph Sipp Jr. and OT Alex Wollschlaeger. On the second team was RB Terion Stewart and DL Anthony Hawkins. On the third team was QB Connor Bazelak and punter John Henderson. On the fourth team OLB Charles Rosser and CB Jacorey Benjamin earned accolades.

Fannin (Jr., Canton, Ohio) leads the nation's tight ends in 23+ offensive categories as he became BGSU's first consensus All-American in program history. Fannin also set eight FBS records in 2024 and tied another one. In the 68 Ventures Bowl, Fannin set the single-season FBS record for receiving yards by a tight end (1,555), single-season FBS record for receptions by a tight end (117), FBS record for receptions in a bowl game by a tight end (17), FBS record for receiving yards in a bowl game by a tight end (213) and tied the single-game FBS record for receptions by a tight end (17). Fannin also ranks No. 1 in the nation among all receivers in 11+ categories, including receiving yards, receptions, YAC, broken tackles, first downs and 100-yard receiving games.

Compared to the preseason Phil Steele Preseason All-MAC team, Fannin, Oladokun and Wollschlaeger stayed on the first team. Sipp jumped to the first team from the second team in the preseason. Bazelak (2), Hawkins (2) and Stewart (2) all made the postseason team after being named to the preseason squad.
