Program Record Seven Falcons Earn NFF Hampshire Honor Society Honors
April 16, 2025 | Football
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green had seven Falcons earn NFF Hampshire Honor Society membership, as announced by the National Football Foundation & College Football Hall of Fame. DL Dontrez Brown, CB Todd Bumphis, DL Chace Davis, TE Levi Gazarek, OLB Demetrius Hardamon, ILB Brock Horne and OT Alex Wollschlaeger all earned the accolades.
The seven Falcons are a program record besting the six in 2008. To earn membership a football student-athlete must maintain a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout his college career. BGSU is one of eight MAC teams to place at least one student-athlete to earn the honor.
Other qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include: Being a starter or a significant contributor in the last year of eligibility at an NCAA FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university or a graduated student-athlete at least three removed from high school; achieving a 3.2 cumulative grade point average throughout the entire course of undergraduate study; and meeting all NCAA/NAIA-mandated progress toward degree requirements.
BGSU has had a Falcon earn the honor five years in a row. Presley Motes earned the honor in 2021 while James Carolan, Jordan Murphy, Matt Naranjo and Nate Needham took honors in 2022. In 2023 Mason Lawler, Matt McDonald and Jake Rogers received accolades. Last year Darren Anders, Hardamon and Austin Osborne earned honors. Due to a tweak in eligibility by the NFF coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hardamon becomes the first Falcon to be awarded the honor twice.
Fellow MAC members Buffalo, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo and Western Michigan also boast student-athletes that gained membership in 2024.
