Brian Hills
- Induction:
- 1988
- Class:
- 1983
Brian Hills, a two-time All-American forward for Coach Jerry York's Falcon icers, played professional hockey in Switzerland. A member of the Schlittschuh Club Rapperswil-Jona, Hills skated for three different teams in Switzerland.
The Windsor, Ontario native was BG's second-leading scorer as a freshman, before skating away with the team offensive honors the next three years. Three times, he was named Central Collegiate Hockey Association All-Star team. He was one of only two Falcons to earn All-American honors twice (1982, 1983), while being the only Falcon twice named a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award, college hockey's equivalent of the Heisman Trophy. Hills, the 1983 CCHA Player of the Year, still holds several game, season and career records at BGSU, including the All-Star scoring record of 270 points. Only 10 other collegians scored more. Hills is second in assists (154) and third in goals (116).
A leader on two successive CCHA Championship teams in 1982 and 1983, Hills was a success off the ice, too. He was named second team Academic All-American as a senior.
Brian Hills was elected to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1988.
