Bachman, Carl

A five-sport star, Carl Bachman earned 13 varsity letters during his time at Bowling Green. His record of 19 PAT's made (out of 22 attempts) in a 151-0 win over Findlay on October 15, 1921 still stands today. He was named to the All-NW Ohio Conference second team in 1922.
In 1922, Bachman, Ivan Lake and three classmates formed the Five Brothers Fraternity at Bowling Green. It remains on campus today as the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
He went on to coach basketball at Findlay High School, leading the Trojans to a state championship in 1948, with one of five undefeated seasons he coached at the school. He helped originate the Ohio High School Basketball Coaches Association, and was named to its Hall of Fame in 1965.
He was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1966.
