Carlos Jackson, a football halfback and track performer from 1955-57, was an assistant football coach for the Falcons from 1968-74 until his untimely death by a heart attack on Nov. 14, 1974, two days before BG's football game at Southern Mississippi. A native of Fostoria, Jackson is the second man to be honored posthumously by the Athletic Hall of Fame. Bowling Green trainer Al Sawdy was the first.

During his time at BG, Jackson was a two-time letterman, in both 1955 and 1956. Jackson was a recipient of All-MAC Second Team honors in 1955 and also was recognized with All-Ohio honors in the same season. Continuing with his stellar season in 1955, Jackson set the season record for rushing among all other BG backs with 505 yards, average just under 6 yards a carry, capping off the season with 2 touchdowns.

Jackson was a powerhouse running back during the 1955 season, having 2 games with over 100+ rushing yards. In games against Toledo and Ohio University, Jackson put up over 100+ yards, leading the Falcons to shutout victories in both games.

Carlos Jackson was inducted into the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1977.
