Charles Clucas

Charles Clucas was captain of the 1920 football team and letterman on the first BG baseball team. He also taught wrestling while a student and also served as editor of the campus newspaper.
The Grand Rapids native became the first graduate to earn a doctorate degree in 1928 at Ohio State. After being a Wood County school administrator for five years, he was professor of education and psychology at Northern Michigan University for 32 years. He retired in 1960 and returned to northwest Ohio, living in Hamler. He passed away in April 1993.
Charles Clucas was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1967.
