Charles Simpson

Charles Simpson coached the Falcons’ gymnastics team for 22 seasons. During his time at BGSU, Simpson amassed a total of 154 wins. His overall record was 154-117-2. Falcon gymnastics claimed three of the first five MAC championships, in 1982, 1983 and 1985. The Falcons placed second in the conference in 1981, 1984 and 1987. Simpson’s teams made a total of six NCAA regional appearances that included four in a row from 1984-87. He led the Falcons to an average of seven dual wins per season during his tenure, and his teams won 10 or more meets five times.
Charles Simpson was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
