Dewey Johnson

Dewey Johnson was a letter winner in four different sports, earning ten letters during his time as a Falcon. The captain of the 1941 basketball team, Johnson also competed on the football, baseball, and track teams. As a football player, Johnson was a fullback and halfpack. On the court, he gained All-Ohio mention as a junior. Dewey Johnson earned three baseball letters as a pitcher, and competed in the javelin and relay on the track team. Johnson would go on to a career in the Air Force in 1941.
In his time as a member of the basketball team, Johnson was the leading scorer for the Falcons in the 1940-41 season, with 19 games played, where he averaged 11.3 points per game. In the same year, although as a member of the football team, Johnson recieved All-Ohio Conference honorable mention recgonition. He had one game during the season with over 100 reception yards, with 15 carries.Â
