Don Worsfold

Don Worsfold, a native of East Grand Rapids, Mich., swam at East Grand Rapids High School for coach Tom Stubbs. He was a three-year letterwinner in swimming, and set numerous freshman, varsity and pool records during his BGSU tenure. He won the 1957 MAC title in both the 50 freestyle and 100 free. The following year, as a senior co-captain, he was a member of the MAC championship relay team in the 400 free and was part of MAC-record relays in both the 200 free and 200 back. Worsfold also was a member of the school-record 400 medley relay team.
Also in 1958, Worsfold received All-American honors in the 50 free, at a time when only the top six finishers garnered All-American honors.
Worsfold held the school record in that event, as well as in the 100 free, 300 medley relay and 400 free relay.
Don Worsfold was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2001.
