Franklin Skibbie

Franklin Skibbie was an outstanding student-athlete in football, basketball, baseball, and tennis. He was a catcher on BG's first championship team, while captaining the 1921 Northwestern Ohio Conference championship football team. He also won All-Northwest Ohio Conference Honors in 1922. After graduating Skibbie went on to serve in atheltics.Â
Skibbie went on to serve three terms as Mayor of Bowling Green, while teaching at Bowling Green High School for 38 years.
Franklin Skibbie was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1964.
