John Murnen

John Murnen, was an outstanding lineman on the Falcon football teams of Coach Doyt Perry, which lost only two games in the 1955-57 seasons. Murnen captained the 1957 team and was the team's most valuable player two years in a row. He was twice named to the All-Mid-American Conference team and received honorable mention All-American recognition.Â
Murnen was drafted by the Baltimore Colts, then went on to play semi-professional for the Toledo Tornadoes. After playing he went on to teach and coach in Toledo.Â
John Murnen was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979.
