Mary Pfeiffer Pechous

Mary Pechous is the only four-time champion in the one-meter diving event in Mid-American Conference history. Her point total of 439.45 as a sophomore in 1986 was the highest in meet and BGSU history upon her graduation.
In addition, she also captured two MAC titles in the three-meter diving event with her total of 458.65 points in 1988 standing as the meet record until 1996. Her other conference championship came in 1986. She holds the BGSU record at three meters with 464.30 total. Her six MAC diving titles ranks behind only the seven titles won by Toledo's Reyna Smith in league history,
In each of her four seasons she was named Outstanding Diver in the conference by the league coaches.
She earned a trip to the NCAA meet in her sophomore and senior seasons in the one-meter event placing 30th in 1986 and 22nd in 1988.
The Oak Forest, Ill. native earned her degree in sport management in 1988.
