Mary Beth Friel

Mary Beth Friel was a native of Hoffman Estates, Ill. During her time at BGSU, she earned All-MAC honors in three seasons, winning the MAC title on the balance beam as a junior in 1991, totalling a score of 9.600. Friel also was crowned the MAC champion on vault in the same season, placing fourth All-Around in the 1991 MAC Championship. Friel also earned all-league honors on the beam as a freshman and senior, was was the first BG gymnast to earn all-conference honors in three different seasons. At the time of Friel's graduation, she held school records in the all-around, balance beam, and floor exercise.
Mary Beth Friel was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
