Raymond Whittaker, a basketball and track standout at Norwalk High School, was Bowling Green's first official athletic equipment manager in 1946 as a student. He also worked with the freshman basketball program and was freshman cage coach in 1951.
As a dean of students at Bowling Green, he was a major contributor to BG athletics as a track official at major meets such as the All-Ohio, MAC championships and Central Collegiate Conference championships. He retired from his position at the University December of 1974.
