Robert Colburn

Robert Colburn was the quarterback of the football team, as well as the No. 1 singles tennis player during his time with the Falcons. A 1956 graduate of Dayton Fairmont High School, Colburn was the co-captain and most valuable player as a quarterback on Doyt Perry's 1959 undefeated National Championship team.
After graduating from Bowling Green, Colburn went on to be a teacher for 30 years, while also coaching football. Colburn also went on to coach, both girl's and boy's basketball, tennis, and golf. Colburn was also a Big 10 official for 20 years.Â
Robert Colburn was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1977.
