....Had some of BG's top track teams.....Won he All-Ohio meet in 1944 with an undefeated season....Also undefeated in 1948....Came to BG after an outstanding career at Sandusky High (87-20-2) where he had some of Ohio's top football and track teams winning 38 consecutive games from 1932-36....Associate professor of health and pyhsical education....The new BG track is named in his honor.

Robert Whittaker served the university in a multitude of capacities during his time as a Falcon coach. From 1941-1954, Whittaker served as the football coach. He was also the track coach from 1942-48 and 1956-60. During his 14 seasons as the football coach, the Falcons had a record of 65-50-7. In 1948, the Falcons finished as one of Ohio's two undefeated teams. As a track coach, Whittaker had some top teams--winning the All-Ohio meet in 1944 with an undefeated season. The Falcons also finished 1948 undefeated.

Robert Whittaker was inducted to the BGSU Athletic Hall of Fame in 1968.
