Stephanie Heldt-Sheller, raised in Toledo, Ohio, soared to unprecedented heights during her time as a Falcon. She lettered four years, was a two-time All-American, and is the school's record holder for indoor high jump with an astonishing 6-0. Heldt-Sheller holds three of the top six performances in the indoor high jump in school history. She holds five of the top 10 performances in school history in the outdoor high jump and shares the school record for outdoor high jump at 5-11.5.

Heldt-Sheller made the first of her four nationals appearances during the 1999 indoor track and field season. She followed that up with an All-American outdoor season, winning the 1999 MAC outdoor championship and advancing to the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field National Championships. She placed 11^th overall to garner All-American status.

Heldt-Sheller redshirted in 2000 for a study-abroad opportunity in Australia, but upon her return, she picked right back up where she had left off.

The 2001 season was a banner year for Heldt-Sheller. She placed 15^th at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships and returned to nationals for the outdoor campaign. Her final moments as a student-athlete at BGSU would not soon be forgotten, as she finished a career-best seventh to once again earn the nod as an All-American.

Heldt-Sheller was the only Falcon to qualify for the NCAA Division I Indoor Track & Field National Championships in a 17-year span, until Aliyah Gustafson broke the drought in the shot put in 2018.

"I am so deeply humbled and honored to be selected as an inductee into the BGSU Athletics Hall of Fame," Heldt-Sheller said. "To join the ranks of these incredibly talented student-athletes and coaches is the most prestigious athletic honor of my life.

"I extend immense gratitude back to the BGSU athletic program, in particular Coach Steve Price, Coach Scott Sehmann, and Coach Sid Sink, because my experiences at BGSU, both on and off the track, were profoundly transformational."

Heldt-Sheller graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2001 and now resides in Portland, Ore. with her husband, step-daughter, son and newborn daughter. Heldt-Sheller was inducted into the Toledo City Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 and the Central Catholic High School Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. In 2017, she was highlighted during BGSU Women's History Month.
