Men's Basketball Wins Fourth Straight

BOWLING GREEN, OH - The Falcons led from start to finish in chalking up their fourth straight overall win and their ninth straight at home beating Northern Illinois by a 72-54 count.
The Falcons scored the first four points of the game and then went on a 13-2 run to take a 19-6 edge at the 9:14 mark of the first half. That would be the biggest lead of the half for the Falcons. After NIU pulled to within five points a 21-16 at the 4:36 mark, the Falcons scored the nine of the next 11 points to push their advantage to double digits again before settling for a 30-22 edge at the break.
BG came out early and put the game away in the second half with a 13-2 run increasing an eight-point lead to 19 (45-26) at the 12:54 mark. BG would eventually build as much as a 26-point lead at the 8:04 mark and coast to their second MAC win in as many tries.
Dave Esterkamp led the Falcons for the second straight game with 17 points while also taking game rebounding honors with nine. He his seven-of-nine shots from the field. Anthony Stacey had 11 of his 15 points in the second half while Keith McLeod added 12 markers. The Falcons, 18th in the nation shooting 49.4% from the field, shot over 50% for the third time in the last four games hitting 50.9% of their shots.
