Bowling Green, Ohio - Freshman Josh Almanson had 22 points and a team-high nine rebounds and fellow frosh Jabari Mattox had a career-high nine assists without a turnover as Bowling Green defeated Urbana, 107-68, Saturday afternoon.
The victory is the 19th straight home win in Anderson Arena, the ninth longest active streak in NCAA I. BGSU is 3-2, while Urbana is now 4-7.
The visiting Blue Knights trailed 23-12 with 10:17 remaining, but scored the next 12 points over the next five minutes to lead 24-23 with 5:47 left in the half. Sparked by an outstanding defensive effort from Maddox, the Falcons went into intermission leading 46-35 and were never threatended in the second half.
Junior Brandon Pardon established a career-high with a team-high 24 points. Junior Len Matela also added 22 points in 26 minutes of action. Freshman Kevin Netter also set a career-high with 18 second-half points.
The Falcons, who will visit Michigan on Wednesday night, shot 63.8 percent from the field.
