COLUMBUS, Ohio - Nationally-ranked Rice captured four singles and two doubles matches en route to a 5-2 victory over the Bowling Green men's tennis team. The neutral-site match was held in Columbus, Ohio Friday afternoon (March 31).
In singles action, the 66th-ranked Owls won at the first, third, fourth and fifth flights. The Brown and Orange received singles victories from a pair of freshmen, as Nicolas Lopez-Acevedo won at the second flight, and Geoff Hiscox posted a straight-sets win at the third level.
In doubles play, BGSU's flight-two team of Hiscox and sophomore Ed Kuresman recorded an 8-6 win.
The Falcons, now 9-6 in dual play this season, will return home for a Saturday (April 1) match against Dayton. The match is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m. at BGSU's Keefe Courts.
