Bowling Green (0-4) fell to Creighton University (11-1), 4-1, in the opening game of the 2000 Pepsi/Johnny Quik Classic being hosted by Fresno State University.
The Falcons jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Kenny Burdine laced a one-out single through the right side and advanced to third on Alan Gilhousen's single. Lee Morrison doubled in Burdine.
The Bluejays scored twice in the bottom of the first when Dan Lawler doubled in a run and scored on a single by Scott Allen.
Lawler scored again in the fourth inning on a single by Ken Sarna.
Sarna homered with one out in the seventh inning to complete the scoring.
Junior Tony Fontana went the distance for BG striking out five and walking three.
The Falcons will face Temple on Tuesday in the second-day of bracket round-robin competition.
