Eastern Michigan dealt BG its first conference loss by scoring four times in the seventh inning for a 7-6 win.
The Falcons scored in the second when Alan Gilhousen and Sean Ryan had back-to-back singles and were sacrificed by Lee Morrison. Gilhousen scored when Matt Marcum's grounder was misplayed.
BG scored five times in the fourth inning as Gilhousen tripled leading off the inning and scored on Ryan's double. After the next two batters were retired, Nick Elrod walked and Corey Loomis' infield hit plated Ryan. Aric Christman singled in Elrod, and Kenny Burdine tripled in Loomis and Christman.
Joe Cheney went 6.1 innings for BG and allowed four runs (two earned) on four hits, while striking out seven. Ryan Streb pitched the final 2/3 of an inning and surrendered three earned runs.
BG drops to 9-12-1 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-American Conference, while Eastern Michigan improved to 10-15 overall and 1-2 in the MAC.
