
Baseball Edges Eastern Michigan In Nightcap

Bowling Green held on for a 5-4 victory in the nightcap against Eastern Michigan scoring all its runs in the fourth and fifth innings.
The Falcons erased a 2-0 Eagle lead with three runs in the fourth. Len Elias drew a one-out walk and Alan Gilhousen reached on a error. Sean Ryan singled in Elias, while Matt Marcum's infield single plated Gilhousen. Ryan crossed the plate on Lee Morrison's fielder's choice.
BG's last two runs came on RBI singles by Kenny Burdine and Alan Gilhousen.
Falcon starting pitcher Craig Menke struck out a career-high 12 batters and allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits in 6.1 innings. Brad Henry and Chad Curlis each retired the lone batter they faced.
BG improves to 10-12-1 overall and 3-1 in the Mid-American Conference, while Eastern Michigan falls to 10-16 overall and 1-3 in the MAC. The Falcons travel to Wright State (3 p.m.) on Tuesday, before hosting Detroit Mercy (3 p.m.) on Wednesday.
