Nikki Rouhana Named MAC Scholar Athlete

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green junior softball player Nikki Rouhana (Westerville, Ohio) has been selected as the Mid-American Conference Scholar Athlete of the Week. Miami baseball player Nate Tekavec won the award from the male nominees.
Rouhana, who maintains a 3.33 cumulative grade-point average while majoring in sport management, hit .455 as the Falcons clinched a tie for the MAC's East Division title last weekend. She had five hits in 11 at-bats, including one homer.
Last weekend, Rouhana recorded an on-base percentage of .455 and a slugging percentage of .727. She made one error in 24 chances on the week (.971 fielding) and is batting .320 on the season. Rouhana finished MAC play with a .373 batting average and a .569 slugging percentage.
The MAC Scholar-Athlete of the Week honor is presented to one MAC male and female student-athlete who has a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. The winners are selected by one of the conference's faculty athletic representatives.
