Men's Soccer Wins At Wisconsin-Milwaukee

The Bowling Green State University men's soccer team, after losing three consecutive 2-1 matches to begin the 2000 campaign, recorded a 3-1 triumph at Wisconsin-Milwaukee in the final game of the 2000 Panther Coca-Cola Classic.
Senior Matt Lyons (Maineville, Ohio/Cincinnati Moeller) scored his second goal of the season with just under five minutes remaining in the first half. Lyons drilled a shot in from 20 yards out with an assist to freshman Scott Tilford (Cincinnati, Ohio/McNicholas). It was Tilford's first collegiate point.
The Falcons increased their lead to 2-0 at the 59:35 mark when junior Detrick Matthews (Bellefontaine, Ohio/Hope-Rio Rancho, NM) scored his third collegiate goal off an assist from Lyons.
BG's Fred Degand (Highland Park, Ill./Deerfield) notched his second of the campaign at 67:29, with an assist from senior Adam Erhard (North Olmsted, Ohio), as he headed in a pass from just two yards out.
Falcon freshman goalkeeper David DeGraff (Naperville, Ill./Central) allowed only a penalty kick goal by Chad Dombrowski with 6:32 remaining in the match, while making six saves.
BG will take a 1-3 record into Thursday's 4 pm match at Detroit-Mercy.
