The Bowling Green State University men's golf team will be competing in the Hawkeye Intercollegiate this weekend in Iowa City, Iowa.
The 12-team field consists of Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Cornell College, Indian Hills C.C., Iowa, Marquette, Northern Illinois, Northern Iowa, St. Ambrose, Western Illinois, Western Kentucky and Wright State.
The 54-hole Hawkeye Intercollegiate will be held at Finkbine Golf Course (par 72 - 7,030 yards) with 36 holes on Saturday and the final 18 on Sunday. Competition begins with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Saturday, while Sunday's round also starts at 8:30 a.m. with tee times off holes #1 and #10.
The Falcons will be looking to improve upon last year's 16th-place finish (out of 17 teams). Justin Gillham (Perrysburg, Ohio) was BG's top performer last year tying for 38th with a 54-hole score of 225 (70-77-78).
After the Hawkeye Intercollegiate, Bowling Green will then compete in the Austin Peay Precept Invitational in Clarksville, Tenn. on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 9-10.
