Falcons Wrap Up Homestand With Tuesday Loss To Dayton
April 14, 2026 | Baseball
DiLodovico, Mitta Homer To Extend Respective On-Base Streaks
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dayton scored two in the top of the first for a 2-0 advantage.
- The Falcons' response came in the bottom of the second with two runs over three hits. Anthony Mitta led off with a single into right field. TJ Takats followed with an RBI double into left center scoring Mitta. In the next at-bat Pauly Mancino drove in Taktas with an RBI single to right field.
- Zack Horky joined Mancino on the base paths, drawing a walk. A sacrifice bunt from Griffin Scheiderer moved both runners, setting up a Lance Vickers sacrifice fly into left field, allowing Mancino to come across to take the lead, 3-2.
- The Flyers added seven in the top of the third to take a 9-3 lead.
- Andrew DiLodovico led off the bottom of the third with a solo shot over the left field wall. The Falcons continued in the next at-bat with Brayden Curlis lining a double into the right center gap. Mitta stayed hot smacking a two-run homer to right center, cutting the lead to 9-6.
- From there, Dayton took over with 10 runs spread across the remaining four innings for the 19-6 final in seven innings.
