Matela's Double-Double Not Enough As BGSU Falls To Kent St.

KENT, Ohio (AP) - Demetric Shaw scored 24 points and added 11 rebounds to lead Kent State to an 81-57 victory over Bowling Green on Saturday.
Kyrem Massey and Andrew Mitchell scored 13 points apiece for the Golden Flashes (14-5, 7-1 Mid-American Conference), and Trevor Huffman added 11.
Len Matela had 17 points and 14 rebounds, Keith McLeod scored 16 and Josh Almanson 10 for Bowling Green (6-10, 2-5).
Shaw scored 12 points and Massey had nine in the game's first 15 minutes as Kent State took a 31-8 lead. The Golden Flashes went ahead 41-20 at halftime and led by as many as 29 points in the second half.
Two times in the first half, the Falcons went scoreless for about four minutes. They hit only 5-of-21 (23.8 percent) field goal attempts in the first half and 17-of-50 (34 percent) in the game.
The Falcons had 21 turnovers, 10 on Kent State steals.
