
Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep With Win Over Ohio

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team posted a three-game sweep for the second consecutive outing in Anderson Arena, defeating Ohio University (30-26, 30-19, 30-23). The Mid-American Conference match was held Saturday afternoon (Oct. 27).
With the victory, the Falcons improve to 14-6 overall and 7-5 in the MAC. The Bobcats drop to 5-15 and 4-8, respectively.
The hosts were led by senior Shyann Robinson and junior Kristin Gamby, who knocked down 14 kills apiece. Robinson's .444 hitting percentage led the team. Senior Natalie Becker led the Brown and Orange with 45 assists, and also had seven digs in the match.
Senior Caty Rommeck and sophomore Laura Twyman each had five total blocks to lead the team in that department. Sophomore Susie Norris posted a team-high 18 digs, her most since a Sept. 1 win over Maryland. Norris also had 11 kills and two total blocks.
Senior Kate Yeo had a team-high three service aces, which also tied her career-high total set in the 1999 season. Yeo also had nine digs to place second on the team on this day. Classmate Karen Amstutz was right behind, recording eight digs.
Also seeing action for the Falcons were Nadia Bedricky, Amber Vorst and Bridget Protas.
Bowling Green had 53 kills as a team, hitting .276. Ohio had 43 team kills and hit .129. Bowling Green had 11 team blocks to Ohio's eight.
Ohio was led by Lindsey Judice's 14 kills off the bench. Michelle Gil had a team-best 11 digs, while Laura Hageman had five total blocks to tie for match honors.
The Falcons are back in action next weekend, facing Central Michigan Friday (Nov. 2) and Akron Saturday (Nov. 3) in the team's third consecutive home weekend. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Anderson.
