Cincinnati, Ohio - In their third meet this fall, the BGSU women's swim team defeated Xavier University 113-92, Saturday November 10. Leading the Falcons in their win was the sophomore class.
The Falcons opened with wins in the first three individual races of the meet. Sophomore Jessica Humes won the 1000 free in a time of 10:50.32. She also went on to win the 500 free later in the meet with a time of 5:16.30. Both times are season bests.
Classmate Jillian Coward won the second individual race, the 200 free, in a time of 1:58.68. She also went on to win her second race, the 200 fly, with a time of 2:14.20. Her 200 free time was her season best by nearly three seconds.
Continuing the streak, senior captian Kim Moden won the 50 free in a time of 25.37. Teammates Alicia Coburn and Sara Mulshine were second and third, respectively, in that race.
Junior Sarah Agnew won the 200 breast in a time of 2:30.76, outtoucing Xavier's Miller. Agnew was second in the 200 IM, her other individual event, with a time of 2:16.87, finishing less than half a second behind Xavier's Hinrichs. Both times were her season bests.
The Falcons have one more meet before the semester break. They will compete in the Notre Dame Invitational on December 6-8.
