
Falcon Gymnastics Loses On The Road

Mt. Pleasant, Michigan - Bowling Green's women's gymnastics team wrapped up the Mid-American Conference regular season portion of the schedule by dropping its second consecutive meet by a score of 193.075-192.425 to the Chippewas of Central Michigan University. With the defeat, the Falcons record drops to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in MAC competition while CMU ups its record to 3-8 and 2-3.
Individually, junior Marny Oestreng (Trogstad, Norway) once again led the way for the Falcons. Oestreng tied for top honors in the floor exercise with a score of 9.925, took second on the vault (9.775), tied for third on the bars (9.825) and finished second in the all-around (38.750).
Also picking up top three finishes on the day for the Falcons were senior Amber Curry (Pittsburgh, PA) on the vault, classmate Heather Dankmyer (Pittsburgh, PA) on the beam and freshmen Melissa Popovich (Medina, OH) and Pia Sjovall (Skarer, Norway) on the floor exercise.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday, March 4 when they take part in the four-team Corvette Classic hosted by the University of Missouri. Action in Columbia, MO is scheduled to begin at 2:00.
