Falcons Rally To Defeat West Virginia, 10-7

Morgantown, WV - The Bowling Green State University baseball team scored eight runs in the final three innings to defeat West Virginia, 10-7, Tuesday evening. With the win, BGSU improves to 9-3.
Trailing 7-6 entering the top of the ninth, the Falcons plated four runs. Sophomore 2B Corey Loomis led off with a bunt single and went to second on a one-out single by senior RF Lee Morrison. Junior SS Nick Elrod doubled home Loomis to tie the score. Following an intentional walk to senior 3B Scott Dukate, sophomore 1B Kelly Hunt knocked in the go-ahead run on a fielders choice. Freshman Neil Schmitz delievered the big blow, a two-run double.
Freshman Clayton Booth pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his third save of the season. Junior Brad Henry pitched three innings of relief, allowing just one run, to post the victory.
Offensively, the Falcons wee led by Dukate who scored four times and had two hits, including a solo home run. Senior CF Aric Christman also had two hits as did Morrison. Tomorrows game against WVU can be heard live at www.msnsportsnet.com/
