Bowling Green, Ohio - Senior RF Lee Morrison hit a three-run home run in the first inning and a grand slam home run in the second inning to lead Bowling Green to an 11-9 MAC victory over Eastern Michigan. Morrison fell one RBI short of the school record of eight set by Andy Tracy in 1995.
The game was the second-half of a twin bill on Saturday that was suspended due to darkness on Saturday. Cold weather and light snow was the reason umpries did not resume play on Sunday, and also canceled the fourth and final game of the series.
BGSU (11-4 and 2-1 on the MAC) won the series from EMU (4-14 and 1-2 in the MAC), two games to one. Sophomore 2B Corey Loomis, senior 3B Scott Dukate, junior SS Nick Elrod also added two hits for BGSU. Sophomore RHP Brett Baumgartner improved to 2-0 after allowing five earned runs in five innings of work as the starting pitcher.
The Falcons will host Michigan at 3 p.m., Tuesday, March 27.
