Hamilton, Ohio - The Bowling Green women's golf squad is in fourth place after day one at the Mid-American Conference Championship in Hamilton, Ohio. The Falcons shot a combined round of 319 and trail current leader Kent State by 22 strokes.
Individually, freshman Jenny Schnipke (Kalida, OH) is leading the charge for the Falcons. Schnipke shot a first round 76 Friday, tying her for sixth overall. Sophomore Shelley Binzel (Dublin, OH) is right behind, in a four-way tie for eighth at 77. Also in the top 20 for the Falcons is sophomore Stephanie Elsea (Worthington, OH), tied for 14th with a round of 79.
The Falcons continue action at the MAC championship Saturday, with the final round set for Sunday in Hamilton.
