BGSU Drops 5-1 Decision at Ferris State

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State finished a weekend sweep of Bowling Green on Saturday night with a 5-1 victory over the Falcons in Big Rapids, Mich.
The Bulldogs (3-1-0 overall, 2-0-0 CCHA) scored two first-period goals, both off of the stick of senior Chris Kunitz, for a 2-0 lead at the end of the first period. FSU added another goal at 14:08 of the second period (PPG) to extend its lead to 3-0.
The Falcons got on the board early in the third period when junior captain D'Arcy McConvey netted his first goal of the season at 2:34. Kevin Bieksa was credited with his first assist of the season on the goal which cut the Falcon deficit to 3-1.
However, FSU added two power-play goals at 11:22 and 16:31 in the third period to push the final score to 5-1.
FSU outshot Bowling Green 53-27 for the game, including 23-7 in the first period and 19-7 in the second period. BGSU held a 13-11 advantage in the final period.
BGSU was 0-for-4 on the power play while FSU was 3-for-6.
Sophomore Jordan Sigalet was in net for the Falcons, finishing with a career-tying 48 saves on 53 shots faced. FSU's Mike Brown had 26 saves on 27 shots faced.
BGSU (1-5-0 overall, 0-4-0 CCHA) returns home next Friday, Oct. 25, with a non-conference matchup with Findlay at the BGSU Ice Arena. It will be the first time the two schools have met on the ice. It is the lone game for the Falcons next weekend.
