Men's Hoops Drops Regular Season Finale At Ohio, 85-78

ATHENS, Ohio (AP) - Steve Esterkamp led four Ohio players in double figures with 19 points and the Bobcats held off Bowling Green for an 85-78 victory Saturday.
Jon Sanderson scored 15 points, Zach Kiekow 13 and Patrick Flomo 11 for the Bobcats (17-10, 11-7 Mid-American Conference).
Keith McLeod led the Falcons (22-7, 12-6) with 35 points and Brandon Pardon scored 15.
Esterkamp scored 17 points and made all three of his 3-pointers in the first half as the Bobcats took a 42-39 lead.
Ohio then opened the second half on a 17-4 run - with seven of the points coming from Flomo - to go ahead 59-43 with 13:46 to play.
Bowling Green pulled within six points five times down the stretch - the last at 79-73 with 1:09 remaining - but got no closer. Ohio made 8-of-8 free throws, including four from Kiekow, over the final 1:52.
