Falcon Men Complete Day Three At Alabama Relays

The Bowling Green Men's Track squad finished day three of competition at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa yesterday. This is the first outdoor track competition of 2002 for BG. The Relays conclude today with the running of the 4x400 meter relay event.
The Falcons posted some impressive times that challenged athletes from institutions like Michigan State, Georgia Tech, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Ole Miss and Wisconsin. Junior Zerian Peterson placed 9th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 48.05 while fellow junior Joshua Cook took 14th in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.59. Freshman Andre George placed 10th in the 400 meter hurdles event with a time of 54.47.
In the pole vault event, two falcons posted fine marks. Freshman Hunter Downey placed 8th in the field with a height of 13-11.25 while sophomore Kerry Koontz came away with Bowling Green's only first place finish thus far in the Relays. Koontz won the vault with a height of 14-11.00.
The Falcons conclude competition today and will return next weekend to take part in the Cincinnati Invitational.
