Akron, Ohio - The Bowling Green men's golf team finished eighth out of 18 teams over the weekend at the FirstEnergy Intercollegiate held at Firestone Country Club. The Falcons finished with a team score of 893 (296, 297, 300). Toledo (869) won the tournament in a one-hole playoff against Penn State (873). Rounding out the top-10 were Kent State (873), Miami (875), Iowa (880), Indiana (886), Eastern Kentucky (886), BGSU (893), Ball State (900) and Ohio (901).
BGSU junior Adam Balls finished tied for fifth overall with a score of 217 (74, 71, 72), two strokes off his season-best score. Other Falcon finishers were Austin Chase (T-37, 225), Craig Pickerel (T-43, 226), Justin Gillham (T-45, 227), and Brian Gerken (T-70, 233).
Bowling Green next competes in the Mid-American Conference Tournament, May 2-4, at the Medallion Club in Westerville, Ohio.
