Falcons Fall to Detroit, 4-1

Detroit, Mich. - The University of Detroit-Mercy scored two goals in each half and went on to post a 4-1 victory over visiting Bowling Green on Wednesday night, Sept. 11.
UDM (4-0-1) outshot the Falcons 21-12 for the game despite BGSU holding a 11-10 advantage in the second half. Bowling Green's goal came with just 24 seconds remaining in the match off of a penalty kick by junior Matt Martinka. It was his first goal of the season.
The Titans' George Kithas had two goals with the other scores coming from Detroit's David Lepore and Anthony Sanchez.
Freshman Paul Dhaliwal led BGSU with three shots while Matt Leardini and Nnamdi Ihemelu had two shots apiece. Junior goalkeeper David DeGraff allowed four goals with seven saves in 90 minutes of action.
BGSU (0-5-0) travels to Oakland University this Saturday, Sept. 14, for a 2:30 p.m. match. The next home match for the Falcons will be Friday, Sept. 20, against visiting Ohio State (2 p.m.).
