
Marshall Gets Best of Falcons In Four

HUNTINGTON, West Virginia - The Bowling Green State University volleyball team dropped a four-set match to Marshal Saturday night (28-30, 30-23, 23-30, 18-30) inside the Henderson Center in Huntington, West Virginia. BGSU was led by junior Taylor Twite, who had a team-high 14 kills and two block-assists.
Senior Susie Norris added her second straight double-double for the weekend with 10 kills and 17 digs. For the weekend she had a team-high 31 kills, as well as chipped in with 31 digs for the two matches.
The story of the match was Marshall's ability to block the ball, as well as play defense. They held the Falcons to a season-low .058 hitting percentage and had a team total 20 blocks. Amber Sims alone had two solo and eight block assists. The Falcons had nine blocks on the night, led by Melissa Mohr's six block-assists.
Bowling Green is now 11-14 overall and 3-8 in Mid American Conference play, while Marshall moves to 16-12 overall and 6-5 in the MAC.
BGSU returns home this weekend (Nov. 7-8) to host Miami on Friday and Ball State on Saturday. Both matches are set for 7:00 p.m.
GOTHKE REACHES 400
With 17 digs versus Ohio University of Friday night, Freshman Chrissy Gothke became only the sixth Falcon in school history to eclipse the 400 dig plateau. She currently has 425 digs, 37 shy of the school record 462, held by current Falcon Susie Norris, set back in 2000.

Early in the 2003 season senior Susie Norris became the all-time leader in Falcon history with 1,344 career digs. She continues to claim more Falcon records throughout the season. She now ranks third all-time in attacks with 3,485. She also ranks eighth in school history with 1,238 kills.
