FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - Terry Collins scored 24 points and had six rebounds to lead Indiana Purdue-Fort Wayne to its first victory of the season Wednesday, 81-75 over Bowling Green.
Ric Wyand scored 15 points and Beau Bauer had 10 for the Mastodons (1-6) to help overcome a big game from Bowling Green's Ron Lewis.
Lewis had 33 points and five rebounds for the Falcons (3-3).
The Mastodons appeared to have the game sewn up when a dunk by David Simon gave them a 74-62 lead with 4:29 to play.
The Falcons rallied, however, using a 7-0 run in the final two minutes to get back into the game. A layup by Kevin Netter with 50 seconds to go pulled Bowling Green within three at 78-75.
The Falcons went scoreless the rest of the way, however, and the Mastodons closed the game out with three free throws.
Austin Montgomery added 14 points for Bowling Green, which shot 58 percent from the field, but made half as many free throws as the Mastodons.
The Mastodons were 22-for-33 from the line, while Bowling Green was 11-for-16.
