
Falcons Place Fourth In Fox Run Invitational

Durham, NH - The Bowling Green State University women's gymnastics team traveled to New Hampshire to compete in the 18th annual Fox Run Invitational on Saturday evening at the Whittemore Center Arena. The Falcons placed fourth with a team score of 190.900, while Michigan State took home first place with a 194.325. Finishing second and third were New Hampshire with a team score of 191.875 and George Washington with a score of 191.425.
Despite the fourth-place finish, several Falcons had impressive nights. Junior co-captain Melissa Popovich (Medina, OH) led the Falcons with a second-place finish in the all-around, with a combined score of 38.500. She also placed third on the floor exercise with a score of 9.825.
Senior Kathy Emerson (Findlay, OH) posted new season-bests with a mark of 9.725 on the balance beam and a 9.650 on the vault. She was the top Falcon on both events.
On the uneven bars the Falcons were led by senior Rachel Hall (Toledo, OH) who posted a 9.575 in the event.
Senior Ann Marie Kassouf (Middleburg Heights) placed tenth in the all-around with a combined score of 36.150.
Up next the Falcons return home to play host to Ball State on February 23 inside the Eppler Center. The meet is set for 2:00 p.m.
