Falcons Place Third In MAC Action On Senior Day

Bowling Green, Ohio - In preparation for the 2003 MAC Gymnastics Championships, the Bowling Green State University placed third in a tri-meet with Western Michigan and Kent State. Kent State placed first with a score of 196.150, Western Michigan finished second with a team total 193.250, while the Falcons posted a score of 192.125.
Freshman Jessica Guyer scored a 9.950 on the floor, posting the top Falcon score on that event all season. The previous falcon season best was a 9.250 by Guyer twice (vs. Ball State, 2/23 & Kent State 2/02). Guyer captured first place in the event. Melissa Popovich finished second on the floor with a 9.900.
Senior Kathy Emerson and Guyer were the top Falcon producers on the vault, both scoring a 9.800, placing fourth in the event.
Jessica Bradley and Senior Rachel Hall led the way for the Falcons on the uneven bars. Bradley scored a 9.675, finishing in a tie for seventh place; while Hall finished tenth with a score of 9.650.
On the beam Senior Ann Marie Kassouf and Guyer led the Falcons. Guyer finished sixth with a 9.750, while Kassouf scored a 9.650.
On the slate next for the Falcons will be the MAC Championships on March 29, at 2:00 p.m. The Championships will be held inside Anderson Arena.
