DETROIT (AP) - John Reimold scored 28 points, including six 3-pointers, to lead Bowling Green past Detroit Mercy 59-53 Saturday.
Josh Almanson added 10 points for the Falcons (3-1), who won their first road game of the season.
James Thues scored 14 points, and Ryvon Coville added 13 and nine rebounds for the Titans. Their 1-4 record puts them off to the worst start since the 1994-95 season began with the same record.
Reimold opened the second half with a triple from the top of the circle to give the Falcons some breathing room, then hit another pair of triples three minutes later to push Bowling Green's lead into double digits. He also hit five of his six field goals in the opening half, including a pair of 3-pointers.
Detroit chipped away at the lead in the last five minutes and had a chance to trim it to two with less than a minute to play, but Ben Green's 3-point try was short and the Falcons were able to hold the ball the rest of the game.
The Falcons led 31-29 at the half after the teams turned the ball over a combined 19 times.
The Titans scored 19 points off Bowling Green's 17 turnovers in the game.
