Falcons Battle to a Scoreless Tie vs. Lake Superior

Bowling Green, Ohio - Bowling Green and Lake Superior battled to a scoreless tie on Saturday night at the BGSU Ice Arena. It marked the second time this season that the two teams have ended in a 0-0 tie.
The Falcons had several shots hit the post and outshot the Lakers in overtime, 3-2. For the game BGSU held a 31-21 shot advantage.
"I thought it was a real spirited hockey game and I was very pleased with the way we played for the entire 65-minute stretch," said BGSU Coach Scott Paluch. "I thought our effort was strong for the entire weekend. There were some pretty good chances for both teams, especially down there near the end."
Jordan Sigalet stopped all 21 shots faced while LSSU's Jeff Jakaitis earned first-star honors with 31 stops. Both teams were scoreless on the power play, BGSU was 0-for-3 while LSSU was 0-for-4.
"It was a hard battle all the way through," said Sigalet. "Their goalie played well. We've done pretty well in the last 10 games and if we can get points every weekend from here on out we'll put ourselves in a good position.
"Our defensemen played unreal all weekend. Just our team overall defensively, period, had a great weekend so hopefully we can carry it into next weekend at Michigan."
It was Sigalet's second shutout of the season as he lowered his goals-against-average to 2.60 and now has a .920 save pct.
BGSU picked up its school-record eighth tie this season and now stands at 9-14-8 overall and 7-11-5 in the CCHA. LSSU is now 6-16-6 overall and 4-14-4 in the CCHA.
