BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Bowling Green State University cross country teams, after hosting a dual meet last weekend, will once again play host with the 18th annual Mel Brodt Invitational. The men's eight-kilometer race is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., with the women's 5K race set for a 10:00 a.m. start.
PARTICIPATING TEAMS
(Both men's and women's teams unless noted) Bowling Green, Baldwin-Wallace, Cedarville (men), Cincinnati, Cleveland State (women), Dayton, Findlay, Heidelberg, Hope College, Huntington College, Indiana Purdue Fort Wayne, John Carroll, Ohio, Siena, Tennessee (women), Wright State and Wisconsin (women). COURSE INFORMATION
The starting line is located on the 14th hole of Forrest Creason Golf Course, which runs along Stadium Drive just north of Doyt Perry Stadium. The finish chute is located to the east of Perry Stadium and the tents that comprise the Meijer Tailgate Park, and just west of Interstate 75. Fans interested in attending the races are encouraged to park in the overflow area of Lot 6. That parking area is adjacent to the finish chute. DIRECTIONS
The best way to get to the course is to take I-75. Exit at the Bowling Green exit (Exit 181) and proceed west toward campus (toward the football stadium). Turn right at the first light, and then make a right on Stadium Drive (first right, just before the campus information booth). Take Stadium Drive; the road will curve to the left. The tents for the Meijer Tailgate Park will be on the left, and the finish chute for the Mel Brodt Invitational will be on the right. Turn right into the parking lot.
The Falcon teams of head coach Cami Wells hosted arch-rival Toledo on Friday (Sept. 3). Both the men (23-34) and women (16-44) defeated the Rockets to open the 2004 season. In the men's race, sophomore Rogers Kipchumba captured first-place with a time of 15:40. Freshman Jamie Roflow won the women's race with a time of 18:33.
