YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) - John Reimold scored 24 points to lead four Bowling Green players in double figures and power the Falcons to a 79-63 win over Eastern Michigan on Wednesday night.
Josh Almanson added 15 points, while Steven Wright had 13 and Mawel Soler chipped in 12 for the Falcons (10-2, 4-0 Mid-American), who are off to their best start since beginning the 2001-02 season 11-1.
Freshman Darryl Garrett scored 19 points and Markus Austin added 12 for the Eagles (9-5, 3-2).
Eastern Michigan's Danny McEhlinny hit a 3-pointer to open the game and give the Eagles their only lead of the night. Playing without leading scorer John Bowler (back), Eastern Michigan kept it close through the first five minutes, but never got closer than a point.
Leading 12-11, Bowling Green broke the game open with a 21-6 run to build a 33-17 halftime lead. Eastern Michigan chipped away at the deficit to pull within 57-45 midway through the second half, but the Falcons scored 13 of the next 16 points to seal the win.
With Bowler sidelined, Bowling Green dominated the inside game, outscoring Eastern Michigan 42-26 in the paint and outrebounding the Eagles 36-31.
