MUNCIE, Ind. (AP) - Dennis Trammel had 22 points and seven rebounds, and Peyton Stovall made 12-of-15 free throws on his way to 17 points to lead Ball State to a 86-62 win over Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green Tuesday night.
Ball State (8-5, 3-2) had a big first half, outscoring the Falcons 49-37. The score included making 10-of-12 free throws for 83.3 percent.
Bowling Green (10-4, 4-2) could climb no closer in the second half, scoring just 25 points to the Cardinals' 37. Ball State made 18-of-28 free throws in the second period, shooting 70 percent for the game from the stripe.
Ball State also scored 23 points off turnovers, compared with just seven for the Falcons.
Also scoring in double digits for Ball State were Julien Mills with 20 points and Terrance Chapman with 15.
Josh Almanson collected 16 points and 11 rebounds for Bowling Green before fouling out. John Reimold added 17 points, and Steven Wright, 10, for the Falcons.
